Zambon and our local Communities

Zambon has always played an active role in the life of our surrounding communities. During 2006 we sponsored the routine maintenance work carried out in the Basilica di Sant’Ambrogio, a historical place of worship and renowned symbol of Milan, having in previous years supported the restoration of its Museo del Tesoro, Oratorio della Passione and Campanile dei Monaci bell tower. We also followed our own recent tradition and once again promoted a public Christmas concert in the church, performed by Italy’s Orchestra del Teatro Olimpico, conducted by Giancarlo de Lorenzo, and the Kontakion choir from Romania. Fittingly, this concert was chosen to launch the year-long celebrations of our centenary worldwide.

This same respect for our heritage saw us supporting the restoration of the frescoes inside the Basilica Palladiana in Vicenza, as well as the Andrea Palladio International Architecture Studies Centre (Centro Internazionale Studi di Architettura - CISA). This centre, also in Vicenza, offers courses, seminars, publications and exhibitions not only on the famous architect Palladio, but on architecture from ancient times through to the 20th century, while also working on the problems of the conservation and restoration of historic buildings.
