Engineering enhanced efficiency and productivity

Our work in 2006 included a project to develop organisational solutions for enhanced efficiency and productivity, which were successfully achieved upon implementation in Belgium, France, Italy and Spain. All four countries benefited from interventions rationalising their  sales organisations, aligning direct marketing to physicians with direct marketing to pharmacies, and implementing a new balance between our companies’ marketing, medical and regulatory departments and the strategies put in place by our central departments.

These initiatives involved partially redesigning our marketing processes and services, and consequently identifying and selecting the appropriate competencies and resources. The adoption of this business model reduced our total staff in all four countries by around one hundred people, a result that was achieved smoothly, consistent with our excellent staff relations, and which was supported by initiatives that, as in Italy, involved a trade union agreement.
